“Design when nourished by a deep spiritual concern for planet, environment and people, results in a moral and ethical viewpoint. Starting from this point of departure will provide the new forms and expressions – the new aesthetic – we are desperately trying to find.”- Victor Papanek (The Green Imperative: Ecology and Ethics in Design and Architecture; 1995)
This is the seed thought for a Social Design initiative at Miti Design Lab.
Design as a process is inclusive. Social Design as an initiative that intends to facilitate a process kindled with design thought, working towards wellbeing at the micro and macro level simultaneously. In partnership with the community - care of Soil; Soul; Society - a trinity forming the basis of all engagement; are the areas that are intended to be addressed.
Taking form through interactions and creations; the social design initiative is steering towards comprehensive human wellbeing and enhancement of cultural, creative and intellectual life.
